1 – Cool off at Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark
The Palm isn’t only about luxury hotels and posh shopping malls, it’s also home to one of Dubai’s most popular water parks: Atlantis Aquaventure.
Sitting right next to the lavish Atlantis, The Palm hotel, this coveted theme park boasts over 105 record-breaking rides, slides, pools, and attractions with 500 meters of secluded sun-kissed beach, making it one of the largest waterparks in the Eastern Hemisphere.
With live entertainment, stomach-churning rides, and fine detail throughout the entire park, from Atlantean-themed towers to shark-filled lagoons (which you can slide through!), there’s plenty here to keep everyone entertained – whether you’re a daredevil who loves nothing more than hurtling down a death-defying waterslide or you prefer to take things at a slower pace and float around in Dubai’s longest lazy river.
Highlights include the Tower of Poseidon (with its near-vertical drop), the Leap of Faith (where you can get up close and personal with some real sharks and cownose rays as you hit speeds of 60 km/h), and Splashers Island (a play area specifically for the younger tots).
Plus, with the opportunity to swim with dolphins and mingle with sea lions at the Lost Chambers Aquarium, as well as learn to surf on the Surf’s Up wave rides, it makes for a wonderful family day out!

2 – Head to the top of the world at the Burj Khalifa
Looking for the best places to visit in Dubai? Piercing the clouds some 830 meters above the concrete floor below, the foreboding and majestic Burj Khalifa is the tallest structure in the world.
An awe-inspiring feat of engineering, this skyscraper dominates the Dubai skyline and offers incredible views from its observation decks on levels 124 and 125.
You can purchase a Burj Khalifa ticket which will give you access to one (or both) of these viewing platforms (with a ride up the world’s fastest elevator too), as well as the chance to explore At The Top, an interactive exhibit about the building of this mega-structure.
On a clear day, you’ll be able to see up to 95 kilometers in every direction! But it doesn’t end there; on the 148th floor, you’ll find what’s called the SKY level, home to the highest outdoor terrace on the planet. Not for the faint-hearted!
If you’re feeling hungry or thirsty, book ahead for a table at Breakfast in the Clouds on the 152nd floor; Tea in the Clouds on the 154th floor; or grab a bite at Atmosphere, on the 122nd floor.
And, if traveling with kids in tow, for the best bang for your buck, consider a combination ticket that also includes access to the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo.
3 – See sharks at the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Home to over 300 species of all shapes and sizes (including the world’s biggest collection of Sand Tiger sharks), the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.
You can explore this underwater world by walking through one of the world’s largest suspended aquariums (it holds over 10 million liters of water!), or, if you’re feeling brave, by taking a glass-bottom boat ride (which departs every 10 to 20 minutes) or an unforgettable cage snorkeling experience.
You can also get up close and personal with the resident animals during a behind-the-scenes tour (like the Penguin Encounter) or by feeding them yourself!
And, for those who want to stay dry, there’s a 48-meter-long underwater aquarium tunnel where you can learn all about these fascinating creatures without getting wet.
Tucked away in the Dubai Mall (a noteworthy attraction in its own right), the aquarium is open every day from 10 am to 10 pm and sells itself as a quintessential Dubai family attraction.
4 – Embark on a desert safari
While towering skyscrapers and ultra-modern architecture might be what Dubai is best known for, there’s another side to this city that’s well worth exploring – and that’s its desert landscapes.
A Dubai desert safari is a must-do activity when visiting with kids in tow; it’s the perfect way to introduce them to the Bedouin way of life and get a taste of traditional Arabic culture.
Your kids will be enthralled by the opportunity to ride a camel, try sandboarding, learn all about the age-old local falconry tradition, and watch a spectacular desert sunset, all while enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars.
Desert safaris can last anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days depending on which activities you chose. Keep in mind that there are age restrictions for some tours (i.e. those which involve high-speed dune buggies), but it’s usually around 3+ years old.

5 – Feel the thrill of indoor skydiving
Want to feel the thrill of skydiving without having to jump out of a plane? You can do just that (and more!) at iFly Dubai, the world’s largest indoor skydiving facility.
One of the perfect family things to do in Dubai on those toasty summer days where you need a little air-conditioned reprieve, iFly Dubai at the City Centre Mirdif shopping mall has two wind tunnels that simulate the freefall experience, giving you the chance to fly like a superhero – or at least feel like one! – in a safe and controlled environment.
You and the family will be kitted out with all the gear you need before taking part in a pre-flight training session, where you’ll learn how to control your body in the air. Then it’s time to take flight!
There are different packages available depending on your needs and preferences, but most include multiple flights so you can really perfect your technique as the day goes on.
While iFly is conveniently and centrally located, over at Inflight Dubai Indoor Skydiving (about 30 minutes inland by car) you’ll uncover the world’s largest and tallest wind tunnel — either way, a heart-racing freefall experience is not to be missed.
6 – Snap colorful photos at the Miracle Garden
Booming with vibrant color and life, the Dubai Miracle Garden is a floral spectacle like no other.
Featuring over 50 million blooming flowers arranged in awe-inspiring structures and designs (like giant hearts, castles, ducks, and an Emirates A380 plane replica), this 72,000 square meter park is an oasis of fragrant flora set against the backdrop of the desert.
An absolute must-see for any nature lover, the Dubai Miracle Garden is open from November to May each year and can get quite crowded during peak season (December to February), so be sure to arrive early if you want to avoid the crowds.
And, if you’re visiting with little ones in tow, don’t forget to check out the neighboring Butterfly Garden – home to over 15,000 free-flying butterflies!
Hot tip: Instagrammers and young families, make a beeline for the Hearts Passage (AKA the Tunnel of Love) for a memorable and heartwarming photo op.
7 – Race around corners with a go-karting session
Craving some speed?
Then get the family revved up for a day of high-octane fun at Dubai Autodrome, the Dubai Indoor Kartdrome, eKart Zabeel, or Kart Mania Dubai, just a handful of the bounty of popular karting tracks on offer in the adrenaline-savvy city.
With both indoor and outdoor tracks available, there are plenty of options to choose from no matter what the weather is like.
And, with karts specifically designed for different age groups (usually around four years and up), even the littlest ones in your crew can get in on the action!
Just be sure to dress everyone in comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes and make sure that they don’t mind getting a little dirty, as things can get pretty dusty out on the track.
Not sure where to start? For something simple at convenient, eKart Zabeel is inside the Dubai Mall and can easily be combined with a day of walkabout. On the flip side, the Dubai KartDrome boasts an outdoor 1.2km International Circuit as well as a 620-meter-long indoor course designed by and for the pros (read: overcompetitive dads).
8 – Soar above the desert in a hot air balloon
As a city of mesmerizing contrasts – none more obvious than the shining glass skyscrapers against the dusty red desert on one side and the sparkling blue Persian Gulf on the other – Dubai is one of the most spectacular places to admire from above.
And, what better way to do it than in a hot air balloon?
With several companies offering early morning flights (the best time to go for the most dramatic views), you and the fam can float serenely above the city as the sun rises, taking in sweeping vistas of Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah island, Burj Al Arab hotel, and beyond, from heights of 4,000 feet.
And while some flights do hang around the build-up areas, the majority head off the beaten path into the raw and untouched landscapes of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, a striking example of the sheer size and diversity of the Emirate.
Most hot air balloon experiences include a post-flight breakfast or champagne toast, making it a truly unique and memorable way to start your day. Just be sure to bundle up – it can get pretty chilly at that altitude! – and keep your camera handy.
9 – Ride heart-racing coasters at IMG Worlds of Adventure
Officially one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks, at a comparative size of 28 football fields, IMG Worlds of Adventure is a beloved amusement park like no other.
Justifiably welcoming over 20,000 every day – families, thrill-seekers, and run-of-the-mill travelers alike – the epic attraction offers four awesome adventure zones to explore: Cartoon Network, Marvel, the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure, and IMG Boulevard.
Featuring close to two-dozen rides (including roller coasters, spinning experiences, simulators, and gentle kiddie rides), a 12-screen cinema complex, and more than 20 dining outlets spread across its sprawling one and a half million square feet of space, there’s truly something for everyone here.
And that’s not even mentioning the park’s star attractions: the world’s first-ever Angry Birds World Theme Park and Dubai’s first-ever indoor Ice Rink!
And, of course, across the whimsically themed zones, keep your eyes peeled for meet and greets with some of the local residents; Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and The Avengers, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls, and Ben 10, just to name a few.
While the four main zones are perfect for older kids and teenagers (and big kids at heart), the new IMG Kids Zone is tailor-made for the tiny tots, with 17,000 feet worth of inflatable playground climbing walls, slides, and more.
10 – Go ziplining at the Dubai Marina
You’ve heard of ziplining – but you’ve never seen it like this before. Imagine rocketing down over the Dubai Marina, Superman-style, with nothing but the city’s glistening skyline, the Persian Gulf, and your own two hands to keep you steady.
That’s exactly what you’ll be doing at XLine Dubai Marina, the world’s longest urban zipline. At nearly one kilometer long, with a heart-stopping height of 170 meters above ground, this is not for the faint of heart (or those with a fear of heights).
But if you’re up for it – and we think you are! – then get ready for the experience of a lifetime. After being kitted out in all the necessary gear by the friendly staff, you’ll take a short hike up to the launch point – the top of the Amwaj Towers – where you’ll be securely harnessed in before taking flight.
As soon as you take that first step off the edge of the platform, you’re in for the ride of your life, soaring over luxury yachts and the sparkling marina.
And, when you finally reach the end (after cannoning down at an average speed of 80km/h), you can relive the entire experience once more with the action cam footage.
Looking for a change of scenery? If you prefer, ditch the built-up cityscape for a rugged desert setting with a ride down the Jais Zipline in Ras Al Khaimah. As the longest zipline in the world at 2.83km, you’ll zoom down from the top of the Jebel Jais mountain at exhilarating speeds of up to 150kph. It would take some serious courage to check this one off the list.
11 – Tackle the world’s fastest coaster at Ferrari World
While not technically located in Dubai, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi is just a short drive away and well worth the visit for any car lover – or anyone who’s looking for a serious adrenaline rush.
As the world’s first Ferrari-themed park, and home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, Ferrari World is an exhilarating experience for all ages.
With over 20 rides and attractions, there’s something here for everyone. Budding racers can climb aboard a cinematic simulator and experience the feeling of driving an F1 car or take home a unique souvenir from the world’s largest Ferrari retail space.
With interactive games, heart-racing coasters, mini-coasters created just for the kids, plenty of lip-smacking Italian food, and the chance to take an in-depth tour of the Ferrari factory and see first-hand how a GT is constructed, whether you’re a speed demon or a daredevil, a car enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, Yas Island’s Ferrari World won’t disappoint.
Now, about those killer coasters. Undeniably the main attraction, Formula Rossa is not for the faint of heart. As the world’s fastest coaster, it hits speeds of up to 240kph in less than 5 seconds, hitting 4.8Gs along the way.
If that’s not enough to get your heart racing, how about the Flying Aces? Reaching heights of 63 meters, this high-octane ride boasts the world’s tallest rollercoaster loop – and, at speeds of 120 km/h, it will have you screaming for more.
And, of course, no visit to Ferrari World would be complete without checking out some of the iconic Italian cars on display in the museum. You might not be able to take one home with you – but it’s still pretty cool to see them up close!
12 – Hit up the 3D World Selfie Museum
Ready to confuse and baffle your friends back home? A little bit of optical trickery meets Instagrammer’s paradise, the Selfie Museum is a one-of-a-kind attraction that’s taken over Dubai’s Al Quoz district.
With over 175 mind-bending installations spread across 9 different zones (like Jungle, Egypt, Humor, Arabic, Illusion, and more) it’s a whimsical place to snap some seriously surreal selfies.
From perspective trickery that will put you inside a crocodile’s jaws to life-sized replicas of classic paintings that you can step into, to larger-than-life angel wings, the Hall of Mirrors, and snake-charming rooms, there’s plenty here to keep you entertained – and your Instagram followers guessing!
If you’re looking for family things to do in Dubai that are a little more low-key than hair-raising theme parks, then this short and sweet Al Quoz attraction is sure to have the youngsters grinning ear to ear.
13 – Sign up for a helicopter tour
From the ground, Dubai is majestic and powerful. Its dramatic skyline and sprawling desert landscapes are a sight to behold. But there’s nothing quite like seeing it all from above.
Experience Dubai in a way you never have before with a helicopter tour of the city. Glide past iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Al Arab, and get an aerial view of Dubai that will stay with you long after your feet are back on the ground.
There are plenty of companies offering helicopter tours in Dubai, so finding one to suit your budget and preferences should be easy. If you’re pinching pennies, the 12-minute flights provide a quick yet incredible highlight reel of the shoreline.
For a little extra, tours can last as long as 40 minutes, taking in the desert landscape, built-up metropolis, manmade islands, and more – all with a friendly local pilot who’ll happily wax fun facts about the iconic landscapes below.
Hot tip: if you plan on ticking off a handful of the main Dubai attractions, you can often save a few bucks by opting for a combination tour. By purchasing a helicopter tour alongside a dhow cruise or an IMG World’s of Adventure ticket (to name just a couple of examples), you can save yourself a decent amount of Dirham.
14 – Experience the wonder of Dubai Garden Glow
Spectacularly lit up in all the colors of the rainbow, Dubai Garden Glow is a must-see for any visitor to the city – especially if you’re traveling with kids.
Found in Zabeel Park and open every day from 4 pm until 10 pm (and 11 pm on Saturdays), this first-in-breed park comes alive at night, with over 10 million energy-saving LED lights on display in a variety of different themes and installations.
As well as being a feast for the eyes, there’s also plenty to keep you entertained here across the diverse yet distinct areas: The Art Park, the Dinosaur Park, Magic Park (full of optical illusions and photo ops), and, of course, the main event: the mesmerizing Garden Glow.
With live music performances, food trucks and eateries aplenty, and 100 animatronic dinosaurs on display, it’s heaven on earth for any little ones who are fascinated by these prehistoric creatures.
If you’re unsure where to start, the Talking Tree, Sparkling Garden, and Taste Hotspots all come highly recommended.
Children under the age of 3 can enter for free, and there’s a dedicated area for younger children to play in too, should you want to let them run around a bit.
15 – Witness unobstructed views of the world’s tallest building from the Sky Views Observatory
When it comes to skyscrapers and viewing platforms in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa often steals the spotlight. But the world’s tallest building has one glaring flaw — it doesn’t offer views of itself.
Enter the Sky Views Observatory, located at The Address Sky View hotels and offering breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of the city including a view of the iconic Burj Khalifa.
At a whopping 219.5 meters above ground, this observation deck presents spectacular views of the modern skyline as it contrasts with the surrounding desert landscape.
And if you or the kids have a sense of adventure, the glass slide that connects level 53 to 52 of the tower is a must. If that still doesn’t quite scratch the adrenaline itch, the open-air Edge Walk experience will do the trick.
16 – Burn some calories at BOUNCE
Far more tiring than it looks, yet certainly a hell of a lot of fun for kids and adults alike, BOUNCE is an indoor trampoline park that’s perfect for when the weather outside is far too hot to handle.
With over 100 interconnected trampolines, a freestyle airbag zone, dodgeball courts, slam dunk hoops, ninja warrior courses, balance beams, and plenty of other activities on offer (as well as professional trampoline instructors to show you the ropes), there’s enough here to keep you entertained for a solid hour. Just an hour? It might not sound like a lot of time, but trust us, you’ll be out of breath in no time.
There are also dedicated areas for little ones, so everyone can join in on the fun. If you need a break from all the bouncing around (we don’t blame you), there’s also a cafe serving up snacks and refreshing drinks.
And with locations in Al Ain, Al Quoz, and the Festival City Mall (Bounce X) – not to mention Flip Out and Sky Zone in other pockets of the city – you’re never too far away from some good old flippin’ fun.
17 – Confuse yourself (in the best way possible) at the Museum of Illusions
Straddling the shores of the Dubai Creek in the old Al Fahidi Historical District, The Museum of Illusions is one of the most popular family things to do in Dubai, and it’s easy to see why.
With a bounty of different optical illusions and mind-bending experiences, this place is guaranteed to leave you baffled, bemused, and laughing all at the same time – especially when you see your eight-year-old’s head on a platter.
From holograms and holographic projections to Ames rooms, rotated rooms, upside-down rooms, and infinity mirror rooms, there’s plenty here to keep your brain ticking over. And with a dedicated area for kids too, it’s perfect for a family day out.
While undoubtedly entertaining, this underrated museum is also educational; the on-site staff are experts in perspective and perception, happy to explain the science behind different illusions or, at the very least, take a few Isnta-worthy photos for you!
So if you’re venturing along the Creek near the Dubai Old City and are looking for something a little different (and a whole lot of fun), the family-friendly Museum of Illusions should sit high on your list.
18 – Take the kids to The Lost Chambers Aquarium
Sandwiched between Atlantis, The Palm, and the Aquaventure Water Park, you’ll find the Lost Chambers Aquarium – themed around the mythical lost city of Atlantis, this marine wonderland is one of the most popular aquariums in Dubai and, indeed, the world.
With over 65,000 marine animals on display (including sharks, eels, piranhas, and seahorses), behind-the-scenes tours, and plenty of educational talks and feedings throughout the day, there’s enough here to keep even the most distractable tots entertained for hours on end.
But it’s not just fish that are swimming around in these chambers; you can also find rays, turtles, crocodiles, and more as you meander through this labyrinthine complex. And if you’re feeling adventurous (and have deep pockets), you can even dive with sharks or embark on the Aquatrek Extreme – a 20-minute walk across the bottom of the Ambassador Lagoon!
Brimming with sea life from across the world throughout its 20+ underwater exhibits, the Lost Chambers Aquarium is a must-visit for families in Dubai.
Hot tip: while it might cost you a few extra bucks, if traveling in peak season, a skip-the-line ticket wouldn’t go astray.
19 – Catch a sunset from The View at the Palm
Imagine standing 240 meters above the world-famous Palm Jumeirah, looking out one way toward the shimmering Arabian Gulf and the other toward the magnificent Dubai skyline.
Now imagine doing all of that with your kids in tow, crafting memories that will last a lifetime (and fill up the camera roll).
Welcome to The View at the Palm – one of the most popular family things to do in Dubai. With open-air glass windows on all sides, this 52nd-floor observation deck offers up some of the best panoramic views in town.
Found at the Palm Tower, part of the $12 billion Palm Jumeirah Island complex, The View at the Palm is also home to an exclusive VIP section, should you be wanting to indulge in a little luxury: on the 54th floor sits ‘The Next Level’, where sparkling drinks, Arabic sweets, and killer vistas await.
So if you’re looking for an activity that will leave everyone in awe, The View at the Palm is it. Just make sure you bring your camera!
20 – Unleash your imagination at AYA
At the AYA exhibition, let your kids’ imaginations run wild as you enter this magical universe. Spanning 40,000 square feet and consisting of 12 unique rooms, this immersive experience combines technology and art to create an entirely new world.
Jump across rivers and discover tumbling waterfalls, journeying through a celestial wonder that will astound and entertain the whole family. With a special passport in hand, you’ll be able to trace your travels and record each space you enter.
From the Aurora to the Celestia and the Source, every room will inspire new dreams and enliven your creativity. This is an experience that embraces a child-like sense of wonder, making it perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
Centrally located in the WAFI Mall, AYA will keep you amused and enthralled for at least two hours. At the end, the kids will be begging for more!
21 – Spend a hot day at Yas Waterworld
Looking for some reprieve from that relentless Dubai heat? Yas Waterworld, located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi (about a 45-minute drive from downtown Dubai), is the perfect solution.
One of the largest water parks in the world (at 37 acres), and regularly spoken of as one of the top 10 in the world, this Emirati-themed aquatic playground features over 40 rides, slides, and attractions – including the UAE’s biggest wave pool and thrill rides like the Jebel Drop, Rush Rider, Bandit Bomber and Cinesplash (a unique and immersive ‘water cinema’ experience) that are sure to get your heart racing!
But it’s not all about high-octane thrills; with dedicated areas for both little ones (Tot’s Playground) and teens (Cannon Point and Water Wars), as well as a range of restaurants offering up international cuisine and souqs to grab sweets and souvenirs, there’s something here for everyone.
So whether you’re wanting to take on the Liwa Loop first looping waterslide or just relax in a private cabana by the pool, Yas Waterworld is guaranteed to leave you feeling cool, refreshed, and ready to take on the Dubai heat once again.
Want to avoid the crowds? If possible, visit from October to March during the week.
22 – Sail along with a traditional Dhow cruise
A tradition that dates back centuries, these wooden boats were once used for trade along the Dubai Creek — these days, they’ve become a tourist-favorite activity and a leisurely way to explore the city’s waterways.
Choose between a daytime or evening cruise, both of which dish up stunning views of Dubai’s skyline and landmarks (like the Burj Khalifa and the Al Fahidi Historical District). If you’re looking for something more comprehensive, some cruises also include a delicious buffet dinner with traditional Arabic music and entertainment to boot.
So no matter what your family’s schedule may be, you can find a cruise that fits the bill.
For a more modern twist, opt for a Dhow cruise that sails along the Dubai Marina where you can immerse yourself in Dubai’s impressive architecture and the world-class yachts docked at the marina.
23 – Let the kids loose at Children’s City
Fusing learning with laughter and education with entertainment, with a name like Children’s City, it should come as no surprise that this interactive science center is often considered one of the best family things to do in Dubai with kids.
Located over in Creek Park and dedicated to the bright minds of children between two and fifteen years old, this hands-on museum is split into a range of fascinating areas that dive into themes like space (don’t miss the planetarium!), nature, the human body, Emirates heritage, technology, earth-science, the cultures of the world, animals, and art.
With a slew of interactive displays, not to mention expert-led workshops and live shows in the Al-Ajyal Theater, your little ones are sure to walk away waxing all kinds of tidbits about the world around them.
And if you find yourself getting a little peckish during your visit, stop by one of the food outlets on site before heading out to explore the beautiful greenery of Creek Park (perhaps with a little stroll across the AlGarhoud Bridge).
24 – Shred some powder at Ski Dubai (yes, seriously)
Fresh powder, in the desert? Surely it must be a mirage! But no, at Ski Dubai – the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East – you can hit the slopes whatever the weather (which, let’s face it, is pretty much always ‘desert hot’ here).
Ski Dubai spans 22,500 square meters and features a 400-meter-long run (one of the longest indoors), five slopes of varying difficulty, and a freestyle zone with jumps and rails for budding snowboarders and skiers, plus a chairlift to help you get up that hill.
But it’s not all about skiing; over in Snow Park, you’ll find an array of other activities on offer including tobogganing, building snowmen or igloos, and meeting some real live penguins (!!), or just frolicking around in the 6,000 tons of ‘snowfall’.
With a central location in the Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is one of the most convenient and unexpected family things to do in Dubai with kids. And after you’re all tuckered out from carving the powder, curl up under a warm blanket with some fresh popcorn for the latest flicks at the Snow Cinema!
25 – Meet Bugs and Batman at Warner Bros World
With Bugs Bunny, Batman, and all your favorite animated characters strutting the streets, Warner Bros World is an indoor amusement park that makes for a wonderful family day out in Dubai — well, in Abu Dhabi, technically.
Sitting on Yas Island, where you’ll also find Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld, the expansive Warner Bros theme park is chock-full of thrilling rides, immersive themed zones, and a whole host of fun activities for the kids.
As you’d expect from Warner Bros, all your favorite films are represented here through state-of-the-art rides, including Batman: Knight Flight, Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey (a 4D flying theatre experience), The Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure, and the oh-so-dark Scooby-Doo Museum of Mysteries ride!
Full of meticulous detail around every corner, the family-favorite park is split up into six different ‘lands’ – Cartoon Junction, Gotham City, Metropolis, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, and Warner Bros Plaza – each of which is based on classic Warner Bros fandom.
While you could certainly make your own way over to Abu Dhabi, server tour operators include round-trip transportation from the main haunts of Dubai, taking all the hassle and organizing out of the trip.
26 – Feel enchanted at the Dubai Butterfly Garden
Found within the beautiful Dubai Miracle Garden, the Dubai Butterfly Garden is – you guessed it – a gorgeous oasis of color, life, and (of course) butterflies!
Self-proclaimed to be the largest indoor butterfly park in the world, this place is not to be missed; with over 15,000 fluttering residents from close to 50 different species from near and far, you’re bound to spot some incredible specimens as you meander through the park’s lush greenery and ten separate zones.
Wandering through the tropical gardens (which are kept at a pleasant 18-25 degrees Celsius year-round) is an absolute delight for young and old alike; aside from being surrounded by such beauty and serenity, you’ll also find interactive displays that teach about the lifecycle of butterflies and their importance in our eco-system.
And if all that nature gets you feeling a little hot under the collar, stop by one of the park’s cafes for a refreshing beverage or an ice cream before you continue on your journey.
27 – Spend the day at Legoland!
Always up there with the most beloved family things to do in Dubai, Legoland regularly wows its younger guests with millions of blocks of Lego-tastic detail.
Located about 30 minutes drive from central Dubai. the park is home to over 40 rides and attractions, all of which are designed for playful and curious minds aged two to twelve.
As you can imagine, there’s a huge Lego influence throughout; from the Miniland area where you can see iconic landmarks made entirely out of no less than 20 million Lego bricks (including Burj Khalifa!), to the Kingdom’s Castle area complete with medieval-themed rides (don’t forget to ride the Dragon Coaster!) and the Factory Tour, where you can go behind the scenes.
And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also an on-site water park – perfect for cooling off on those hot Dubai days! If you prefer a casual splash as opposed to an entire water park, then the pedal boats will do just the trick.
You’ll find this popular family attraction surrounded by an array of lesser-known yet no less beloved theme parks. So, consider bunking in for a night at the Legoland Hotel before checking out MOTIONGATE™ Dubai or BollywoodParks™ Dubai the following day.
28 – Check out the incredible Dubai Frame
Sticking out like a sore thumb in Zabeel Park is the Dubai Frame – and we mean that in the best way possible.
This unique structure holds the record for the largest frame in the world, and, if you peer through it, quite literally frames iconic views of old and new Dubai, offering visitors an eye-opening perspective that’s bound to leave a lasting impression.
Once you’ve made your way up to the top (via either the lift or stairs), head over to the 150-meter-high Sky Deck for some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape. If you’re feeling brave, you can even walk across the glass floor!
For all of you history buffs, be sure to allocate some time to explore the on-site museum, a treasure trove of insights dedicated to showcasing Dubai’s transformation from a humble fishing village into the bustling metropolis it is today.
29 – Hang with elephants at Dubai Safari Park
A quintessential stop for voyaging animal lovers looking for a memorable day out, Dubai Safari Park is one of the best places to see some of the world’s most magnificent beasts in their natural habitat.

Aiming to be both entertaining and educational, you can also take part in several insightful activities that are designed to teach visitors about the importance of animal conservation; such as the 35-minute Safari Journey, 10-minute Arabian Desert Safari tour, live feedings where you can watch some of the animals being fed (and maybe even get a chance to feed them yourself!) or one of the many talks and shows that are held throughout the day at the kids’ farm.
And if you’re looking for something a bit more hands-on, then you can even opt for a behind-the-scenes tour, where you’ll get to see what goes into taking care of the park’s many residents.
30 – Go ’round the world in 8 hours at the Global Village
If you’re looking for an activity that the whole family can enjoy, then look no further than Global Village.
This iconic Dubai attraction is a melting pot of cultures, offering visitors the chance to experience the traditions and cuisines of countries from all around the world; all without leaving the city!
With over 25 uniquely decorated pavilions representing more than 90 countries and cultures, there’s plenty to see and do; from browsing traditional handicrafts and indulging in delicious international cuisine, to taking part in one of the many exhilarating rides or catching a show at the Global Village Amphitheatre (the Burn The Floor dance show is a crowd favorite).
Make sure to snap a few selfies in front of World Heritage Site replicas like the Colosseum and Eiffel Tower, and if you want to make a day of it, there’s also ample opportunity to go shopping, with quirky souvenirs dotted all throughout the various cultures.
31 – Find your balance at Aventura Park
One for the adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts, Aventura Park is an action-packed playground immersed within lush Ghaf tree forest that’s tailor-made for those looking to let off some steam.
With over 60 different activities on offer, including zip-lining, rope challenges, rock climbing, and abseiling, the diversity of challenges is nothing short of impressive.
Whether the youngsters are looking to scratch that thrill-seeker itch with an introductory high ropes course or the seasoned daredevil parents are hunting for a real challenge in the form of the Leap of Faith or the 25-meter Tarzan jump, you’ll find it here.
For something a little more reserved, ideal for younger visitors, the nature trailers and informative nature talks are always well appreciated.
32 – Get absolutely soaked at Wild Wadi Water Park
When the mercury is scorching and the humidity is through the roof, there’s nothing quite like cooling off with a dip in the pool – and Wild Wadi Water Park is one of the best places to take a refreshing dip in Dubai.
This world-famous waterpark is located right next door to the ‘7-star’ Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, making it one of the most Instagrammed attractions in all of Dubai.
But it’s not just about the snaps; with an impressive collection of over 30 rides, slides, and soaking wet attractions all themed around Juha, a character from Arabian folklore, there are bucketloads to keep both kids and adults entertained for hours on end.
From adrenaline-pumping slides like Tantrum Alley and the Burj Surj, to more relaxed activities such as lazy river floating and wave pools; whatever your swimming style or comfort level, you’ll find something to enjoy at Wild Wadi.
Oh, and did we mention that it’s also home to the world’s largest water slide outside of North America? That’s right – at 33 meters high and reaching heart-pounding speeds of 80 km/h, the Jumeirah Sceirah is not to be missed!
33 – Let the kids learn a thing or two at OliOli
A first in many aspects, including being Dubai’s inaugural experiential children’s museum, OliOli is an award-winning interactive wonderland that’s specifically designed to engage and stimulate the minds of our next and brightest generation.
With 8 dedicated galleries, each with its own unique theme, OliOli encourages kids to get stuck in and explore through hands-on activities and educational play.
From light shows and sensory experiences in the air and water galleries, to arts and crafts workshops where kids can see their actual drawings come to life, or tinkering with cars, rockets, and hovercrafts.
OliOlli has no less than 45 different exhibits to teach science, maths, engineering, technology, and art to those willing to learn (although, thanks to its detailed and hands-on displays, it won’t feel like learning at all!).
And if you’re looking for a break from all the excitement (trust us, your little ones will be exhausted after a few hours here), then take advantage of the La Petite Treehouse Cafe which offers a selection of healthy snacks and drinks.
34 – Change scenery with a visit to The Green Planet
Any green thumbs out there? A vertical rainforest full of more than 3,000 diverse species from all across the globe; at first, the Green Planet seems as though it doesn’t belong — a giant 150-foot-tall white cube sticking out of the ground, it’s one of those places that always surprises in the best way possible.
Step inside the unique structure and you’re greeted by immersive sights, sounds, and smells reminiscent of the Amazonian jungle.
Complete with the world’s largest artificial tree, cascading waterfalls, and a flock of vibrant birds flying overhead; it’s easy to see (and feel) why this place is so popular with kids and adults alike – the reptiles and cheeky primates, in particular, are a hit with the youngsters.
Want to take your visit to the next level? Consider signing up for one of the four encounters (Bird Encounter, Reptile Encounter, Sloth Encounter, Sugar Glider Encounter) or go all out with Camping in the Rainforest, a rare opportunity to spend the night in the biodome, falling asleep to the enchanting sounds and hums of the animals.
35 – Jump in a kayak (at La Mer)
A kayaking trip is a great way to get out and explore some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, from a whole new perspective.
And with so many different companies now offering tours, it’s easier than ever to find one that suits your budget and fitness level.
While some operators will provide you with all the gear and instruction you need to get started, others offer more comprehensive packages that include stops for breakfast or lunch, as well as guided tours led by expert kayakers who know all the best spots to see (and take photos!).
While the Dubai Creek, Dubai Fountain, and Palm Jumeirah are all popular destinations to grab a paddle, it’s hard to go past the scenes and serenity of La Mer.
One of the city’s few public beaches, this eclectic beachfront area is home to many restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as a skate park, waterpark, and (of course) the very kayakable shoreline.
So whether you’re looking for a good workout or a leisurely paddle down one of Dubai’s busiest waterways, there’s sure to be a kayaking trip that’s perfect for you.
36 – Hit up the Laguna Waterpark
Speaking of La Mer, a stone’s throw from the sunkissed shores sits the brand new Laguna Waterpark – small yet special and certainly great value for money, it’s fair to say that this place is quickly becoming one of Dubai’s most popular family attractions.
With 5 slides – two of which are never-before-seen in the region – and plenty of the age-old classics (like lazy rivers and wave pools), you can surf, relax, slide and splash to your heart’s content. Unsurprisingly, those are also the names of the four dedicated zones.
You’ll be hanging ten on the WaveOz 180 one minute and cooling off in the Splash pad the next – accounting for both thrillseekers and beach bums (with direct access to the shore), there’s something for everyone at Laguna Waterpark.
And with several unique experiences on offer (like a looping waterslide!), it’s easy to see why this place is such a hit with teenagers.
But if you’re not into getting wet (or you just need a break from all the excitement), then you can always relax on one of the many sun loungers or grab a bite to eat at one of the several on-site restaurants.
Hot tip: adults, while the youngsters and splashing about, make a beeline for the refreshing cold pool with the swim-up bar.
37 – Try different water sports at Kite Beach
Appropriately dubbed for its ever-present kite surfers and soft white sand, Kite Beach is one of Dubai’s most beloved coastal areas.
Situated just a short drive from Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), this long and wide beach offers plenty of space for sunbathers, picnickers, and volleyball games – not to mention some of the best views in the city.
And with a number of food trucks and kiosks selling everything from ice cream to shawarma, you won’t go hungry here either.
Kite Beach is also home to several fitness classes and activities, including yoga, football, cross-fit, and (of course) kitesurfing lessons – not to mention a library, a 14-kilometer-long running track, and some bungee trampolines. So whether you’re looking to relax or get active, this is the place to be.
38 – Conquer the Jebel Jais mountain!
Scraping the clouds at a whopping 1,934 meters (6,345 ft) above sea level, the rugged faces of Jebel Jais make up the tallest mountain in the UAE.
A two-hour drive from Dubai (or 45 minutes if you take the newly opened RAK to Jebel Jais gondola), this is the place to come if you’re looking for a taste of the great outdoors.
With hiking and mountain biking trails aplenty, as well as a number of other adventure activities on offer (paragliding, for one), there’s plenty to keep even the most active family entertained.
But there is an undisputed highlight: at 2.83 kilometer long, the Jais Flight zipline is officially the longest in the world. Strapped in like Superman (yes, you’ll descend head-first if you’re brave enough), you’ll swoop through ravines and over the jagged peaks at speeds of up to 150 kilometers an hour. It’s three minutes of pure thrills, and an experience you’ll never forget.
Not to mention, the views from the top are pretty spectacular (on a clear day, you can see all the way into Oman!). So whether you’re coming for the adrenaline rush or just to take in the scenery, Jebel Jais is worth a visit.
Keep in mind: For zipline participants under 18 years old, there’s a height and weight requirement, so check beforehand to avoid disappointment.
39 – Experience new worlds at VR Park
As the postcard-child for cities of the future — a real-world Orbit City, of sorts (any Jetsons fans out there?) — it should come as no surprise that Dubai is home to the world’s first-ever virtual reality (VR) theme park.
But what is a VR theme park, exactly? Good question.
Essentially, it’s an immersive gaming experience where you put on a headset and are transported into a different world. Think of it as a real-life video game, if you will.
With over 30 different experiences to choose from — including dune buggy in the desert, car racing, and even jumping off the Burj Khalifa — there’s always something that will soak up the youngsters’ attention.
And with multiple levels catering to different age groups and interests, not to mention on-site cafes, carousels, arcade games, and soft toddler play areas all within its convenient Dubai Mall location, it makes for one of the more engaging and immersive family things to do in Dubai. Just be warned: once you strap on that headset, it’ll be hard to tear yourself away!
40 – Mingle with Flamingos at the Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary
Like stepping into the colorful pages of a Dr. Seuss book, a visit to the Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is definitely one of the more unique things to do in Dubai with kids.
Situated just minutes from Downtown Dubai, this protected wetland area is home to over 65 species of birds (gorgeous pink flamingos included), as well as crabs, hedgehogs, fish, lizards, and even the occasional gazelle.
You can explore the sanctuary via a series of raised walkways and viewing platforms, or wander out into the wilderness for an up-close look at the resident wildlife.
For those looking to do more than just look, there are also educational programs and workshops where curious visitors can learn all about the local ecosystems — the salt flats, mangroves, and lagoons — and what they can do to help protect the critters which call this place home.
The best time to visit is during the flamingo feeding hours – around 10 am or 4 pm.
41 – Escape the city crowds at the beautiful Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve
While the City of Gold is modernly renowned for its skyscrapers and luxury, Dubai’s roots lie in the desert. And to truly appreciate the slice of traditional Emirati culture, look no further than the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
Home to animals (120 birds and 43 mammals and reptiles), plants and outdoor activities galore, this protected conservation area spans over 225 square kilometers and offers a smorgasbord of ways to experience the great outdoors.
Whether it’s a wildlife safari, camel trekking, horse riding, a high-thrills sandboarding session or a traditional falconry display, you’re bound to find an activity that can keep the whole family entertained.
And while it might feel worlds away, it’s an easy 35-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the city.
42 – Lace up the ice skates!
A much-needed escape from the toasty desert heat, the Olympic-sized Ice Rink at Dubai Mall (where you’ll find no less than 1200 stores and 200 restaurants and cafes) is an ideal activity for families looking to cool off and have some old-fashion fun.
Offering lessons for beginners and Friday and Saturday DJ on Ice night (a great family outing!), the popular indoor rink — thanks to its central location — makes for an easy addition to most days of traditional Dubai exploring.
But the best part? The Ice Rink is located right next to the iconic Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, so you can catch a glimpse of some seriously cool marine life while you’re there.
Ticket prices start at AED 85 (less than $25 USD), with discounts provided to those who visit off-peak (before 2 pm!).
43 – Pop into the TEPfactor Adventure Park
Escape room meets adventure park meets real-life video game at TEPfactor, an interactive challenge course designed to test your mind, body, and teamwork.
With over 21 different challenges spread out across different rooms, all combined take between 2 and 4 hours to complete, this is one activity that’s sure to keep the entire family entertained.
From figuring out how to escape a dark room by finding hidden keys and codes, to crawling through air ducts and rappelling down walls, there’s no shortage of activities at TEPfactor.
But don’t worry, it’s not all about competition. TEPfactor is also a great team-building exercise, and a fun way to bond with family and friends as you work together to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and reach the finish line.
Found next to the JBR Beach, and all of the family-friendly activities that come with it, this hands-on locale is an easy add-on to any day of soaking up the sun!
44 – See the main highlights with a hop-on-hop-off bus tour
Short on time? Or don’t feel like organizing your own transport around this admittedly enormous city? Then leave the driving to someone else and opt for a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour.
These double-decker open-air buses provide an easy (and air-conditioned) way to see all of Dubai’s major attractions, with multiple routes and stops that make it simple to explore all of the city’s postcard-worthy highlights as you please.
With recorded commentary in multiple languages, these bus tours are ideal for first-time visitors looking for an overview of the city, or families with kids who need a break from walking around in the heat.
While each company has a slightly different route, regardless of your preferred bus, you’re bound to stop in the majority of the following: the Jumeirah Mosque, Creekside Park, Jumeirah Beach Park, Heritage Village, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Creek, the Burj Al Arab 7-star hotel, the Grand Mosque, The Burj Khalifa, the luxurious Atlantis the Palm resort, the traditional Bastakia Quarter, and the Diving Village.
45 – Putt for your life at 3D Blacklight Mini Golf
An interactive oasis of neon, sound, and light, this 18-hole indoor mini-golf course is unlike any other in Dubai.
Using state-of-the-art technology, each hole at 3D Blacklight Mini Golf has been designed with a different theme and comes complete with its own unique challenges.
From Egyptian tombs to outer space, underwater worlds, and rugged jungles, every hole is an immersive experience that’s sure to keep the whole family entertained.
And if that wasn’t enough, the entire course is set against a backdrop of pulsing music and ultraviolet lights, making for an unforgettable (and photo-worthy) round of mini-golf.
You’ll find this family-favorite attraction just behind JBR beach, making it an easy add-on to any day of exploring the Palm area.
46 – Work on the tan at Jumeirah Beach
A coveted, golden stretch of sand on the shores of Dubai, Jumeirah Beach is one of the city’s most popular tourist destinations.
And for good reason! With its white sand, clear water, and breathtaking views of both the Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah, this beach truly has it all.
But that’s not all – Jumeirah Beach is also home to several excellent family-friendly attractions, like the Wild Wadi Waterpark (pay to enter), a children’s playground with slides and splash pads, BBQ, and picnic tables if you’re after a spot of lunch, and even camel rides along the shoreline.
Plus, with plenty of restaurants and food trucks in the area, you’re never far from a refreshing drink or bite to eat.
As the name suggests, this is also where you’ll find the Jumeirah Beach Residence. A symbol of Dubai luxury, the waterfront stretches for two kilometers of shoreline – and is booming with high-rises, and a bounty of shops, and cafes along ‘The Walk’.
47 – Play make-believe at Kidzania
Regularly considered one of the best family things to do in Dubai for anyone traveling with kids under 10, KidZania is an indoor ‘city’ designed just for kids.
A miniature version of the real thing, KidZania offers pint-sized versions of over 80 different professions, from firefighters and policemen to surgeons and chefs.
And it’s not all play – at KidZania, kids will also get a taste of what it’s like to be a working adult, earning ‘KidZos’ (the city’s currency) as they complete various tasks and activities. Talk about growing up too fast!
They can then spend their hard-earned cash at one of the many shopping and dining options available in the city.
With so many hands-on activities, Kidzania is the perfect place to while away a few hours on any scorching day. The youngsters will be having so much fun they won’t even realize it’s an educational facility!
48 – Get a front-row seat for the Dubai Fountain Show
Majestic, awe-inspiring, and – most importantly – fun for the whole family, the Dubai Fountain Show is one of the city’s top artistic tourist attractions.
Synchronized to music and featuring over 6,000 lights, plus water jets that dance and shoot into the air, and even an occasional firework display, this spectacular show is not to be missed.
You can catch the Dubai Fountain Show every half an hour from sunset until late evening (usually from 6 pm to 11 pm), making it an easy addition to any night out in Downtown Dubai.
And the best part? It’s completely free! Just find a spot on the ground or one of the many bridges surrounding Burj Khalifa Lake and enjoy.
Hot tip: while it will cost you a few bucks, few vantage points compare to that of the decks f a traditional “abra” water taxi.
49 – Snap selfies with celebs at Madame Tussauds Dubai
The closest thing you’ll get to meeting your favorite celebrity, Madame Tussauds Dubai is a meeting place for all the (wax versions of) who’s-who in town!
From local TV stars to Hollywood heartthrobs, internationally renowned artists, musicians, athletes, and more, you’re sure to find a figure that piques your interest.
With over 60 different like-for-like figures on display, from Audrey Hepburn to Queen Elizabeth, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Vin Diesel, Madame Tussauds on Bluewaters Island (just off the Jumeirah Beach Residence coastline where you’ll also find a must-do observation week!) is a top choice for both adults and kids alike.
They say never meet your heroes — this way, you can snap a selfie with your high-school crush without ruining the fantasy!
50 – Book tickets for the La Perle show
A Dubai institution, La Perle at Al Habtoor City is a captivating night out for anyone visiting the city – regardless of age.
This jaw-dropping, circusesque show combines theatrics, acrobatics, diving, and aerial stunts with water features and pyrotechnics to create an unforgettable experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
With the 65 Broadway-seasoned performers putting on thousands of 90-minute shows since the spectacle’s inception in 2017, La Perle has something for everyone – namely, an 82-foot high dive into the on-stage pool.
Whether you’re a diehard theatre fan or just looking for a mesmerizing night out, this spectacular show is not to be missed.
And with tickets starting at just AED 259 (about USD 70), it’s also one of the most affordable things to do in Dubai! Of course, if you want to splurge, dinner+show tickets and VIP experience are offered too.
51 – Relax and unwind on Sufouh Beach
A hidden gem that the locals don’t want you to know about (literally translating to Secret Beach), Sufouh Beach is a serene spot for swimming, sunbathing, and simply taking in the incredible views of Dubai’s skyline, namely the Burj Al Arab.
This beautiful beach is located on the eastern side of Palm Jumeirah, just past Atlantis The Palm. You’ll find it by taking the first left after the bridge that leads to Atlantis.
Once you’re there, take a stroll down the boardwalk, relax on one of the many life-flat chairs scattered along the shoreline, or paddle in the gentle waves lapping at the shore.
For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Dubai, Sufouh Beach is definitely worth a visit as one of the more underrated family things to do in Dubai with kids – just don’t forget your sunscreen and water!
52 – Step into Tinseltown at Motiongate
Cinephiles, listen up! Motiongate Dubai is a must-do for anyone visiting Dubai with kids – or without, for that matter.
As one of the largest theme parks in the world, Motiongate spans over four million square feet and features 27 rides and attractions based on some of Hollywood’s most popular movies, including The Hunger Games, Kung-Fu Panda, Zombieland, Shrek, Madagascar, Ghostbusters, and more.
Spread through the entertainment oasis are five different zones, each with unique characters, food, rides, and decorations: Studio Central, Dreamworks, Columbia Pictures, Lionsgate, and the child-oriented Smurfs’ Village.
With something for everyone – from adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters to family-friendly shows and rides and no shortage of cinematic tropes, Motiongate is guaranteed to provide a fun day out for all, popcorn included.
A crowd favorite activity, the Capitol Bullet Train is hair-raising half-pipe coaster that will leave you grinning ear to ear, likewise the high-octane Zombieland Blast Off ride.
53 – Make it over to the Sharjah Aquarium
Playing host to over 150 different underwater critters – from ominous rays to colorful clownfish – Sharjah Aquarium is a must-see for animal lovers of all ages.
The aquarium, located in the Al Khan area of Sharjah – on the other side of the Dubai Creek, about a 25-minute drive from Downtown Dubai – is home to thousands of aquatic animals throughout no less than 20 different recreated aquatic environments.
From coral reefs and lagoons and swampy mangroves and rock pools, it’s as diverse (an underrated) an aquarium as you’ll find in the UAE.
In addition to the regular exhibits, Sharjah Aquarium also offers educational programs for kids, including sleepovers in the aquarium (for children aged seven and up) as well as birthday parties.
Hot tip: around the corner is the Sharjah Maritime Museum. With a slew of boats, yachts, and historic fishing equipment on display, it makes for the perfect back-to-back itinerary.
54 – Scratch any art itch at the Abu Dhabi Louvre
Art-lovers, take note. Who says you have to fly to the City of Lights to get your fix of French art and culture?
The Louvre Abu Dhabi – a sister institution to the famed Parisienne icon – is a stunning museum that’s home to over 600 masterpieces of priceless works of art, including modern and historical paintings, intricate sculptures, detailed century-old manuscripts, rare archaeological finds, and a whole lot more.
Designed by Pritzker-prize architect French architect Jean Nouvel, the museum itself is a work of art, with its intricate latticework exterior that was inspired by the concept of a medina used in traditional Arabic architecture.
Inside, you’ll find over a dozen galleries spread across multiple floors – each one focusing on a different theme or period in history – as well as temporary exhibitions featuring rotating collections from other world-renowned museums.
There’s also an on-site cafe where you refuel, plenty of learning resources should you want to dive deeper into the stories behind the art (like podcasts and symposiums); and an on-site Children’s Museum, a hands-on section aimed at intriguing and delighting curious minds aged 4-10 (or thereabouts).
55 – Take a day trip to beautiful seaside Fujairah
A waterside wonderland of limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and hidden coves and lagoons, Fujairah is one of the most beautiful places in the UAE – and makes for an excellent day trip from Dubai.
Fujairah is located on the east coast of the UAE (about a 75-minute drive from Dubai) and is known for its dramatic mountainscapes that jut out into the Gulf of Oman.
Popular activities in Fujairah include swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving (with a slew of courses for both beginners and experts alike); exploring the Al Badiyah Mosque – one of the oldest mosques in the country; hiking up to the beautiful Wadi Wurayah Falls (the only free-flowing waterfall in the UAE, would you believe); visiting the Fujairah Fort – the largest and oldest castle in the UAE; and cruising on up to the dramatic Hajar Mountains.
Far quieter and far more naturally scenic than Dubai, this east coast oasis beckons for a day trip.
56 – Ride the cable car at Creek Park
A favorite among locals and tourists alike, Creek Park is one of Dubai’s most beloved green spaces and a welcomed breath of fresh air on any occasion.
Situated along the bustling Dubai Creek, in the heart of the old city between the Maktoum and Garhoud bridges, the 96-hectare park is one of Dubai’s largest and is home to a wide range of attractions and activities, including walking and jogging tracks, playgrounds, picnic areas, the Dubai Dolphinarium, Children’s City indoor infotainment center, an amphitheater, an aviary, a botanical garden, and much more.
There’s also a cable car that takes you on a 30-minute scenic tour of the park that covers over two kilometers (and offers some incredible views of the cityscape from 30 meters high), as well as several restaurants should you get peckish.
Whether you’re looking for a place to enjoy some quality time with the family or simply want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours, Creek Park is the perfect spot.
Keep in mind: The Creek Park Dubai entrance fee is AED 5 per person, and it’s only open from 8 am till 11 pm (or midnight, on the weekends).
57 – Have dinner… in the sky!
With a skyline that majestic, it would be rude not to see it from as many different angles as possible – and Dinner in the Sky offers one of the most unique vantage points in Dubai.
As the name suggests, Dinner in the Sky is exactly what it sounds like: a fine dining experience high up in the sky, suspended 50 meters off the ground by a crane.
With room for nearly two-dozen diners (and a couple of staff members) per session, you’ll be blessed with a 3-course meal curated before your eyes — a rotating cast of top-quality chefs will whip up everything from sushi to steak, depending on what’s on the menu.
Given the seat size, you’ll have to leave any toddlers at home — the minimum age limit is 5 years old for the aerial adventure.
Oh, and did we mention there’s a lunch option too; arguably even more exciting thanks to the daytime views.
Where to stay in Dubai with kids
Accommodation-wise, Dubai has no shortage of family-friendly hotels catering to travelers of all budgets.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah – Another great option for those looking to stay near the famous Palm, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel offers stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, as well as direct access to a golden beach. Around the corner is Wild Wadi Waterpark (which is free if staying at the hotel!), not to mention a children’s club, private beach, and climbing wall.
Address Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai – who says you need to stay near the beach to have a good time? Smack-bang in the middle of the city’s busiest mall (more on that later), the Address Dubai Mall is perfect for those who want to be close to all the action (specifically, an ice rink, aquarium, and virtual reality park all next door). Plus, with one of the largest rooftop pools in the UAE and a kids’ club, there’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained.
Still looking? Any of the Lapita on Sheikh Zayed Road (near the Dubai Parks), Caesars Palace on Bluewaters Island, or the ever-so-snazzy Ritz-Carlton boast more than enough to keep the whole family satisfied.
Save hassle and time: book an airport transfer
Arriving at the airport? Then why add the stress and expense of getting a rental car when you can book one of many professional and reliable airport transfer services instead?
With a range of vehicles to choose from, you’ll get from the airport to your accommodation in comfort and style – whether you’re traveling as a family, couple, or group.
There’s no hailing taxis, no jumping on busses, and no carrying your own suitcases — plus, there’s always something pretty special about seeing your name on a placard at the airport!
To make things even easier, pre-organized transfers can also arrange for your return journey back to the airport at the end of your stay.
Now that you know what’s on offer, all that’s left to do is start planning your trip! So what are you waiting for?
