Fast, simple, and super friendly on the wallet, this Attractions4us sunset adventure sells itself as one of the best cheap things to do in New York City.

Besides getting to float up to landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, you’ll also get to hear all about the history of how they came to be some of New York’s most celebrated sites.

Since it’s only an hour or so long, it gives you plenty of time to explore the famous South Street Seaport area and (if you’re feeling like stretching your legs) walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Attractions4us sunset cruise jets off from Pier 36 at the  South Street Seaport on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
This tour only lasts around 1 hour. However, there is also an option to extend to a 90-minute tour.
Tickets for the 1-hour sunset cruise cost US$35 for adults and US$32 for kids (3-11). The longer 90-minute  tour costs US$40 for adults and US$36 for kids. Through Attractions4us, you can buy a cruise + One World Observatory combo ticket for US$86 for adults and US$80 for kids.
Once you've left Pier 36, you'll head down the East River toward Lady Liberty and  Ellis Island. After some time in the harbor to appreciate the skyline, you'll turn around and head back to the pier.

Our review

This tour’s main selling point is that it’s great value for money. You can expect great views of Lower Manhattan and Lady Liberty, but it doesn’t have to take too much time out of your day.
