1 – Fall in love with a floral wonderland: Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Glass domes, forestry of blooms, waterfalls and walkways across canopies of trees, the whimsical Gardens by the Bay is made for lovers!

Singapore’s most recognized landmark is divided into green outdoor spaces (like the Kingfisher Wetlands) and indoor gardens.

Discover one of the tallest indoor waterfalls inside the iconic Cloud Forest, strolling across an elevated zigzagging walkway of exotic plants.

The resplendent Flower Dome lures you in with themed floral arrangements, and easily imagine fairies playing inside the four gardens of Floral Fantasy.

From near and far (and splattered across just about every advertisement for Singapore), see the purple and green structures of the Supertree Observatory, and the 22-meter OCBC Skywalk runs through the vertical gardens.

Hot tip: Experience the magical Garden Rhapsody show at Gardens by the Bay, a highlight among things to do in Singapore at night, where the Supertree Grove comes alive with lights and music.

2 – See the city from a different perspective on a river boat tour

river boat tour in Singapore

Hands hold tight, let the world pass you by as you sail along the Singapore River wrapped in your darling’s arms.

Hop on board a 20th-century traditional wooden tongkang boat, sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of life passing you by during a relaxing yet insightful riverboat tour.

Chugging along the water, cruise past some of the city’s most famous landmarks, like Marina Bay Sands, Raffles’ Landing Site and the Singapore Flyer.

Daytime river cruises typically last 40 minutes and are really affordable. However, if your hearts are set on seeing the city under its twinkling metropolis of lights, there is a nighttime option instead.

Got any questions along the way? Whether it’s about the city’s history or one of its more modern attractions, there’s onboard English commentary the whole way guiding you.

3 – Dine at celeb restaurants at Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

The epitome of luxury, feel like a world-class celebrity at Marina Bay Sands!

Is it a plane? A boat? A train in the clouds? Why, it’s the SkyPark Observation Deck! This icon of Singapore is an architectural masterpiece built across three individual towers. The city panoramas from here are next-level — literally!

Mandatory to enter the viewpoint, grab your Marina Bay Sands Skypark tickets beforehand. Couples, consider the dreamy ‘Sunset in the Sky’ option, toppled with champagne and handcraft gourmet choccies.

A world of celebrity chefing awaits you, from Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen to Cut by Wolfgang Puck. Or make like Beckham and dine at two Michelin-star Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda.

Then, take your pick of fanciful bars to unwind into the night. Sip on cocktails with a view at CÉ LA VI SkyBar & Club, or knock back the finest selection of American whiskeys at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar (overseeing Marina Bay).

From New York to Singapore, don your red lips and dancing shoes and finish off the evening in style at Marquee!

4 – Let the sounds of music fill your soul with romantic candlelight concert

candlelight concert in Singapore

Picture this: a room dazzled with hundreds of warm flickering candles and the sweet sounds of a dramatic orchestra filling the air … We’re talking about hypnotic candlelight concerts, of course!

Unlike any live gig you’ve seen before, these special concerts are super intimate and the venues carefully chosen — this is what sets the show apart!

Sing along to “Yellow,” “A Sky Full of Stars” and all your other favorite Coldplay songs at CHIJMES, performed on piano. Also held here are ‘Magical Movie Soundtracks’ (cue the Disney classics) and the ‘Best of Anime Soundtracks’ candlelight concerts.

Revel in the sounds of Joe Hisaishi at The Arts House (or be overcome by goosebumps with a ‘Candlelight Orchestra: A Tribute to Joe Hisaishi’ at the Victoria Theatre instead), and also showing at The Arts House is K-Pop Music on Strings!

5 – Frolic in the calm waters around Sentosa’s beaches

Sentosa beach

One of the biggest reasons why tourists flock to paradisiacal Sentosa Island is because of its three gorgeous beaches — arguably, the best in Singapore!

Feel like Johnny, Orlando or Keira straight out of the Pirates of the Caribbean at Palawan Beach!

Or if you’re not the biggest sunbather, get your water sporting on at Siloso Beach (also home to a string of fab dining spots).

Tanjong Beach is the quietest of the three, and couples favor it for its peaceful vibes. Or, did you know that there’s a hidden beach on Sentosa: Tanjong Rimau?

But Sentosa isn’t the only destination for a beach day in Singapore, with more options in other parts.

Changi Beach (in front of Changi Beach Park) is a favorite with locals; Punggol Beach with its black boulders has tons of pretty rock pools, or pick up a kayak and explore East Coast Beach, which is surprisingly manmade!

6 – Chase colors of the rainbow in the Orchid Garden

Orchid Garden, Singapore

Flowers are always a romantic idea … especially when you’re enveloped by over 3,000 types of Orchidaceae!

Home to 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids, you’ll want your cameras close on hand for the stunning National Orchid Garden!

Founded in 1859, its impressive collection is owed in part to the Botanical Garden’s breeding program (started in 1928). Personalized and ‘hand-crafted,’ its visitors are mind-blown by the orchid displays and varieties time and time again.

Designed to replicate a montane forest, spot rare lady’s slipper orchids and boat orchids inside the Sembcorp Cool House.

To see the award-winners (like Dendrobiums and Vandaceous orchids), amble through the Tan Hoon Siang Mist House. The Tropical Montane Orchidetum showcases orchids and other plants, for example, magnolias and the Yuen Peng McNeice Bromeliad Collection is dedicated to neotropical plants.

7 – Stand beneath the indoor waterfall at Jewel Changi Canopy Park

Jewel Changi Canopy Park, Singapore

Got an hour or two to kill before you check in and fly home or to your next destination? Even if not, we’d suggest making time for the Jewel Changi Canopy Park.

Located on the fifth floor of Jewel Changi Airport, this indoor garden playground mimics a massive greenhouse vibe.

As a waterfall opens from a hole in the glass roof, prepare to be mesmerized, and release your inner child on the playful attractions. But first, breathe it all in from the elevated 23-meter-high Canopy Bridge built above the park.

The sculptural Discovery Slides also double as another view deck; cool off in the (artificial) clouds on Foggy Bowls’ grass greens; and get lost inside a reflecting labyrinth at the Mirror Maze.

Flower child, seasonal floral displays await you inside the Petal Garden and let your imaginations run free on the Topiary Walk where animal structures are crafted completely out of blooms!

8 – Drink the views 100 meters above ground on the Singapore Cable Car

Singapore Cable Car

From dining in the sky to the mind-bending vistas over all of Lion City, a ride on the Singapore Cable car is a dreamy journey! It’s not just a means of transport; it’s a whole experience!

Connecting areas across the island of Singapore, there are two gondola lines to choose from.

The Mount Faber line takes 30 minutes and transports guests from the mainland to Sentosa Island, crossing Mount Faber, Harbourfront and Sentosa. At your final stop, you can walk five minutes across to the Imbiah Lookout point.

The Sentosa Line crosses Merlion, Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Point on Sentosa Island, and this route takes about 15 minutes.

Searching for an out-of-this-world date night? Embark on a culinary extravaganza in the clouds with one of the Cable Car Sky Dining experiences! Choose between a lavish four-course dinner; a two-course private dinner in the cable car; mezze and bubbly with the sunset in the Champagne Cabin; or treat your palettes to the flavors of Singapore with the Savour Singapore option.

9 – Meet Ronaldo, Marilyn, the Queen and Harry Styles at Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds, Singapore

Shake hands with the rich and famous and greet your favorite celebrities at Madame Tussauds Singapore! Okay, they may not be the real person, but these lifelike wax figurines will have you believing otherwise!

Apart from the museum’s usual themed zones, some super cool experiences are available only at the Singapore location, such as a wax-dripping workshop. Create cute keepsakes, like love hearts! Or, the first of its kind for any Madame Tussauds is the indoor Spirit of Singapore boat ride.

Of course, the main attraction is the waxed humans, and because you’re in Southeast Asia, some categories celebrate local VIPs and culture.

Pretend to be a Bollywood Star in the ‘Ultimate Film Star Experience’ zone and meet locals from a Malay Fishing Village or Chinatown at the interactive ‘Images of Singapore’ zone.

Standard categories include the History & Leaders, Sports, TV & Film, Music and A-list zones, with other extras including the IIFA Awards Experience and the K-Wave areas.

For standard rides, join other flyers in a glass capsule gondola (which can fit up to 28 people), completing one full circle on the observation wheel.

With bubbly on the table, your love bubble is further lifted as you enjoy a private 30-minute spin around the Flyer during a Premium Champagne Flight.

Elevate your evening plans with a romantic four-course dinner in the Flyer. Enjoy priority boarding and it includes three rotations on the wheel (the whole thing lasts 90 minutes).

The highest point of the Flyer reaches 165 meters above the ground, admiring sweeping panoramas of Singapore.

More interesting cycling tours include a Marina Bay tour at night, a food tour through Katong, or a biking expedition showcasing Singapore’s most Instagrammable corners!

Not sold on the guided bit? Then simply hire a bike for the day from one of the rental companies.

14 – Shop, eat, repeat in eclectic Chinatown

Chinatown tour in Singapore

Vibrant and vibey, Chinatown’s atmosphere is electric!

Delicious smells fill the streets, red Chinese lanterns decorate shop fronts, calligraphed signs lure in curious minds and you can sense the spirituality in the air.

On that note, if there’s one part of Singapore for visiting the different temples, you’re in the right place! The famous five-story Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is exceptional! Taoist Thian Hock Keng Temple was built in honor of Chinese goddess of the seas, Mazu. Colorful Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple.

Visit a traditional tea house, shop for aromatic spices, get lost inside bookstores, pop into fascinating galleries, fill up on ancient herbal medicines and Chinatown has some incredible vintage and antique stores!

From trendy cafes to authentic Chinese restaurants (where you’ll find the best dim sum in town), some of the yummiest dining options are right here!

Fun fact for creatives: the street art around Chinatown is insane!!!

15 – Eat at the world’s cheapest 1-star Michelin restaurant on a food tour

food tour in Singapore

With its melting pot of cultures, the cuisine of Singapore is no different! If you share a passion for food, then a food tour is a no-brainer!

An important part of Singaporean culture, there are plenty of food-centric excursions to take your pick!

Did you know that SIngapore’s street food has earned itself UNESCO status? Deep dive into its acclaimed cuisine during a local hawker street food experience around neighborhoods and hawker centers in Chinatown, Little India, Geylang and Kampong Glam. (Some tours choose only one area to focus on.)

Certain expeditions also visit Singapore’s Michelin-listed vendors!

Also, usually the dishes you taste throughout the tour are dependent on the time of day, for example, morning or lunch vibes.

Pondering plans for a fun date night? There are dinners available too, for example, an evening out feasting in Chinatown, river cruise included!

Hot tip: For food lovers, a 3 day Singapore itinerary isn’t complete without exploring the city’s hawker centers, offering a taste of local delicacies like Hainanese chicken rice and laksa.

With plenty to explore, hunt down the WWII sites (like the Battlebox) and colonial monuments, sculptures litter the park, and there are nine impressive gardens, such as the Spice Garden, Artisan’s Garden, Jubilee Park and Pancur Larangan (known as the Forbidden Spring).

Get better acquainted with all of the park’s landmarks and stories at the Fort Canning Heritage Gallery (inside the Fort Canning Centre), displaying artifacts from prequel times.

Their story is brought to life using digital projections, like 3D mapping, laser lights, pyrotechnics and interactive technologies. Become enraptured by scenes from the Mayan Pyramids, underwater worlds, the Silk Road, the African Savanna and the Industrial Revolution!

25 – Try something new together, like kayaking

kayaking in Singapore

How fun does a tandem kayaking session sound? Glide across the glistening ocean or cruise through lush mangroves, pausing for an authentic seafood lunch.

For our ocean-loving twosome, kick off the adventure from Ola Beach Club, sailing across the calm ocean. Lasting an hour, it begins with a briefing if you’ve never tried the water sport before.

Swapping terrains, veer through marshes and wetlands as eagles, kingfishers and herons fly overhead, past kelongs and over to Pulau Ubin in a pedal-powered sailing kayak.

For something a little different from a typical session, try your hand at kayak fishing!

Just as it suggests, this is fishing from your pedal-powered kayak, and all equipment is provided for you. Choose between a full-day rental, or there are guided kayak fishing tours along Pulau Ubin!

26 – Breathe in serenity along the Southern Ridges

Southern Ridges, Singapore

You’re in Asia’s greenest city, naturally, it’s got some unique and interesting sides to it!

Go with the ebb and flow of things, appreciating one another’s company and Mother Nature along the Southern Ridges!

This 10-kilometer-long stretch offers an alternative walking route through the city and its bounty of parks, acting like a connector between them all. The famed walking ridges have many architectural wonders (like the Henderson Waves and the 80-meter-long Alexandra Arch), and tons of wildlife can be seen from this vantage point — especially from the Canopy Walk!

There’s loads to do along the way! Parks that are linked off of the Southern Ridges include Telok Blangah Hill Park (our favorite), historical Kent Ridge Park, Hort Park and Mount Faber Park.

Access the ridges from various parts, but a popular start is from the Marang Trail entrance.

Kallang Ice World, Singapore

Lace-up your skating boots and hit the rink at Kallang Ice World. Thanks to its indoor setup, you can go ice skating no matter the season!

You’ve got your leisure ice-skating sessions, or up your game and book a private training lesson for the both of you. (There are novice and professional ice skating classes available.)

28 – Compare your favorite works at the National Gallery Singapore

National Gallery Singapore

Not only fall in love with the artworks and international exhibitions showcased at the National Gallery Singapore, but the design of this building sparks just as much joy!

A grand checkered foyer staircase, a rotunda dome and high ceilings … It’s the perfect setting for the world’s “largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art.”

The gallery is, in fact, split across two historic colonial buildings: the City Hall and the former Supreme Court (hence all the grandeur).

Housing over 8,000 artworks, the collections chronicle SEA from the 19th century until today from artists across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.

Two of the museum’s galleries host permanent exhibitions: the DBS Singapore Gallery (300 art pieces dedicated to the history of Singapore since the 19th century), and the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery displaying 300 artworks from Southeast Asian artists.

There are many types of photography tours and companies to choose from.

For example, head off on a Night Photo Tour or three-hour private Street Photo Tour through Chinatown with Aperture Tours.

Or, if you’re here on honeymoon, book a private photoshoot around colorful Marina Bay Sands where you two are the main feature!

Cabinets display jars of preserved invertebrates, hundreds of dried insects decorate wall spaces, and interactive zones help you better understand the beginning of time!

Its 2,000-odd specimens are split into 15 themed zones in the Biodiversity Gallery (featuring dinosaurs, the Singapore sperm whale and the Slice of the Changi Tree); and the Heritage Gallery focuses on the 1800s and early 1900s in the Lion City.

As a natural history museum, there are also museum gardens to explore, as well as a Botanical Collection and a Zoological Reference Collection.

Meet Oreo, Pudding, Jimmy, Longan, BoBo and the other adopted or re-homed feline friends at The Cat Cafe.

They have two locations: Bugis (home to 15 cats) and The Rail Mall (home to 14 fluffies). The older cats live at Bugis, and the younger members at The Rail Mall location. You’ll need to reserve your time slot prior to arriving.

Meomi Cafe is another lovely spot and a little more intimate. The cats are extra fluffy and super friendly, and you can also grab hot or soft drinks here.

Remember to always remain respectful of the kitties (you’re in their space, after all), and don’t wake them if they’re sleeping. Keep volumes down and camera flashes off.

35 – Learn about new flavors & ingredients during a cooking class

cooking class in Singapore

The next time you host a dinner party for friends and family, show off your new set of skills and dishes learned together during a cooking class in Singapore!

With its diverse culture, there are many options.

Learn how to make Singaporean staples, for example, Hainanese chicken rice, nasi lemak or laksa, during a small-group three-hour cooking class. There’s a different menu for each day of the week!

Headed up inside a professional kitchen, there are classes for gluten-free eaters, as well as completely vegan or vegetarian options. Opt for a private cooking class instead, making dumplings, xiao long bao, chili crab or satay.

There are also private cooking lessons where you’ll learn to cook Korean favorites or classes highlighting Peranakan cuisine (a combination of Chinese and Malay/Indonesian flavors).

Or get hands-on visiting a local wet market, shopping for your own ingredients, and then cooking up a three-dish storm back in the kitchen.

Ever heard of (miracle) Tiger Balm?

An outdoor museum with a twist, it’s time to step into the hallows of hell at Haw Par Villa, which is actually a cultural theme park!

The villa was built in 1935 by the inventor of the herbal ointment, Aw Boon Haw, and was formerly known as the ‘Tiger Balm Garden.’ Inspired by Chinese folklore, the setup depicts the Ten Courts of Hell through 1,000 sculptures, mini figurines and dioramas.

Step into the afterlife through series of scenes from Chinese history, literature, folklore and legends. Join a tour, like ones through the villa at twilight, or pick a DIY trail where you don’t need a guide, like the Zodiac Hunt!

Discover some cool workshops here as well, for example, Mosaic Art Jamming!
