Gozo is an island just to the northwest of Malta. It can be reached by boat in less than 45 minutes if you take the Gozo Fast Ferry.
If you have a rental car you can take it on the ferry from Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal which is around 40 minutes drive from Valletta. The price is around €16 for a return journey and passengers other than the driver must pay separately. The crossing take less than 30 minutes.
