How to get to to Seville Cathedral?

Seville Cathedral’s official address is Av. de la Constitución, s/n, 41004 Sevilla. It’s located along the Avenida de la Constitución and is reachable by several different transport methods.

  • By tram - If you’re visiting from Plaza Nueva (the central square in Seville), you can take the local tram. You need to get on the Metro-Centro, which has four stops on the Avenida de la Constitución past the Cathedral. The tram runs from 6.00 am to 1.30 am.
  • By bus - The numbers C3, C4 and C5 run from Puerta de Jerez (south of the centre) and Plaza Ponce de Leon (east). The buses run from around 6.00am to 11.00 pm, with night buses operating between 12.00 am and 2.00 am.
  • By foot - The Seville Cathedral is centrally located, which means it’s easy to reach by foot.  As a major tourist attraction, finding directions - either by  asking or using Google Maps - is fairly straightforward.

When is the best time to visit Seville Cathedral?

The spring and summer seasons are the best times to visit Seville, meaning it’s also an excellent time to see the cathedral and other attractions. However, these are the busiest times of the year, so it’s worth looking at visiting during the quieter months when the crowds will be quieter.

As for the cathedral’s opening hours, late afternoon is the quietest time to visit. If you’re visiting towards the end of the day, it’s important to remember that the Giralda and some other attractions close half an hour before closing time. The church is usually at its busiest around noon.

  • It’s best to pre-book your visit, as queues at the cathedral can be lengthy. Tickets can sell out quickly at the cathedral, which is why it’s a good idea to safeguard your visit by booking in advance online.
  • Tours of the Giralda are limited to six per day, with two in English and the others in Spanish and French. Only 25 people are allowed on each tour, which is why it’s one of the most popular features of the cathedral and sells out quickly.
  • There are no stairs at the Giralda, with 35 incline ramps the only way to reach the top.
  • You can take as many photos as you like while in the cathedral, as long as they aren’t for commercial purposes and you don’t use a tripod.
  • It takes around two-and-a-half hours to visit the cathedral and its attractions.
  • Visitors should dress appropriately, which means no hats, beachwear, strapless shirts, mini-shorts or skirts, or tank tops.
