What are the highlights at Loro Park?

Loro Park is home to all the big hitters that you would expect to find in a zoo. Lions, meerkats, and red pandas are family favorites but you’ll encounter sloths and chimps too.  Your Loro Park ticket gives you access to several different attractions inside the zoo. Here are some of the top picks:

AquaViva

Luminous jellyfish are the stars of the show at this mesmerizing underwater exhibition. Watch as these otherworldly sea creatures float gracefully through the aquarium and learn about their unique marine habitat. Other AquaViva inhabitants include blacktip reef sharks and hundreds of tropical fish.

Animal shows

Throughout the day there are several exhibitions that are included in your Loro Park entrance fee. Popular shows feature sea lions, parrots, dolphins, and orcas. Check the schedule and plan your visit around the performances so you don’t miss a trick.

Zen Garden

This surreal underwater garden reveals a world modeled on the majestic mountain ranges in Asia. Reminiscent of the lost city of Atlantis, Zen Garden has a meditative feel, with plenty of colorful fish to keep you entertained.

Kinderlandia

Kids love playing on suspended bridges and sliding through tunnels at Kinderlandia. There’s a roller coaster too, as well as face painting, music, and games.

Where is Loro Park located?

Loro Park is on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz in northern Tenerife. A free shuttle service called the “Loro Parque Express” runs several times daily between the Plaza de los Reyes Católicos and the park.

There is also a dedicated paid bus service from resorts in the south of the island, and tickets can be purchased on the Loro Park website.

When is the best time to visit Loro Park?

Loro Park is very popular, so to avoid the crowds it’s best to arrive first thing in the morning or later during the afternoon. Loro Park entry is from 9.30 AM so have an early breakfast and be there when the gates open.

Weekends tend to be the busiest times, so try and schedule your Loro Park visit for a day during the week if you can.
