Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure needs to be seen in order to be believed, but as a taster, here are a few of the many joys that rest within its grounds.

Leisure Walks

Sometimes you’ve just gotta hit the open road and see the sights for yourself, and that’s what these walks are all about. There are 2,500 metres of concrete pathways and boardwalks all the way through the park, and we mean it when we say that it’s possible to walk for hours and get completely lost in the moment.

Breakfast with the Koalas

Tourists come from afar to do many things in Queensland but dining with a koala bear is perhaps the most Australian thing imaginable. While overlooking the lagoon you can sit and enjoy a lovely meal in the wildlife, and for around half an hour, the second or third member of the group will be revealed - an adorable koala.

Wildlife Presentations

There are a parade of cool presentations that go on throughout the day with visitors being able to really grasp how magnificent these animals are. We’ve got the crocodile feeding and farm shows, the crocodile attack show and even a special snake show.

Cruises

Hop on a boat and go on a ride that we can just about guarantee you’ll never forget. There will be a guide on board who will steer you through the open waters for around 20 minutes, and along the way, the crocs will be there to entertain and swim along with the rest of the gang.

Are there any other fun theme parks in Cairns?

The great thing about Queensland is that there are so many insane opportunities out there to try in these wildlife and theme parks, to the point where we’d be surprised if you managed to fit it all in on one visit.

One way of being able to cram in as much as you can is by opting into The Great Australian Wildlife Experience. For the price of A$71 per adult and A$35.50 per child, you’ll get the chance to head to THREE different parks in three days.

This combination tour not only gives you access to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure, but opens up the door for a trip to Kuranda Koala Gardens and Birdworld Kuranda.

It’s the kind of package that strikes right into the heart of those who want to be one with nature and also want to see as many luxurious animals as they possibly can. You’ll be allowed to explore all three with the sort of time and freedom that can only be afforded on a grand old holiday, with this being the definition of a vacation treat.

It’s well known that there’s a whole lot out there in addition to all of this, but package wise, this is one that can’t be missed.

Travel tips

  • While life may be getting back to normal step by step, it’s crucially important that we all still work incredibly hard to eradicate COVID-19. Therefore, make sure you read up on the park’s COVID Safe Plan, because you don’t want to travel all that way only to be turned back for not abiding by the rules.
  • Cash is used in most walks of life but Hartley’s specifically indicates that credit/debit card payments are definitely preferred within the context of their own site. As such, we’d suggest making sure there’s enough money on your card to pay for yourself any anyone else in the party.
  • You wouldn’t think this would have to be a point given the emphasis on the crocodiles, but here goes nothing: don’t be a hero. These animals are beautiful and majestic but they aren’t to be messed around with, which is why sticking to the correct distance is the best way to ensure no problems arise.
