Buda Castle

The Buda Castle is the palace complex of the Hungarian Kings. It was built in 1265, but the Baroque castle as we know it today was added between 1749 and 1769. The castle was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. The castle now hosts the Hungarian National Gallery and The Budapest History Museum. The site sits on the tip of Castle Hill in a part of the city known as Castle District.

Inaugurated in 1896 for the 1000th anniversary of the country of Hungary, the Parliament of Budapest is the house of the National Assembly of Hungary. Located on the Danube waterway, it is one of the most known touristic attractions in Hungary. In addition to being the most massive building in Hungary, it is also the tallest one in Budapest. The parliament was built in Neo-Gothic style. Due to its size, and it's elaborate handcrafted decorations, this building has recently been under restoration.
