The 40.5 kilometer trip takes 50 minutes via the Ma-2200.

You can take a bus from Port de Pollença. The 353 bus drops you at the lighthouse and also stops at Playa de Formentor.

From Mallorca to Formentor by ferry

You can take the local ferry to Formentor Beach from Port de Pollença. It takes 25 minutes. It runs from May to October (about €13,50 return).

The settlement was founded about 70 BC by the Romans and arose from the settlement of Pollentia. Its remains lie between the town and the port of Port d'Alcúdia.

The imposing towered city wall was completed in 1362 and the city gates Porta de Mallorca and Porta del Moll, still remain today. Strolling over the old fortress you will enjoy great views over the old town.

Sineu

The town of Sineu boasts a rich historical and architectural heritage, with links to the Romans and the Moors. During the reign of King Jaume II (1481-1495) a palace was built which served as residence for many Mallorcan kings.

Today it’s used as a nunnery. Around the older parts of Sineu you will find many ancient ancestral homes and landmarks. Visit the ancient parish church with its impressive bell tower, and the first hospital in rural Mallorca dating back to 1240.

On the main town square, the Plaza Des Fossar, there are many small cafés where you can enjoy a break. The biggest drawcard to the town for locals and tourists alike is the Wednesday market, selling from clothes and traditional crafts to livestock.
