It’s always a good idea to reserve your Lion Habitat Ranch tickets ahead of your visit. By booking in advance, you can secure your preferred timeslot on the day of your choice.
The stars of the show are of course the 30 lions. Until 2012 they were on display at the MGM Grand Hotel, and now they’re enjoying a well-deserved retirement. The standard Lion Habitat Ranch rate includes a visit to see these formidable kings and queens of the jungle.
You can also admire the exotic birds and meet Ozzie, the world’s only brush painting giraffe. If you’re lucky you might see him in action!
There are some experiences that are not included in your Lion Habitat Ranch tickets:
Hand feeding the animals offers a really intimate encounter with these African icons. You can give both the lions and the giraffe their lunch if you’re feeling brave!
The ultimate ranch experiences are the “Behind the Scenes” Lion Habitat Ranch tours, which take you into the restricted areas. You’ll see the keepers cleaning and bathing the animals, and there will be a chance to feed the giraffe too.
If you have a large group, this is your opportunity to enjoy lunch in the company of the lions. Don’t worry, they’ll be on the other side of the glass walls, but that won’t stop them eyeing up your meal!
The Lion Habitat Ranch is just a few minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, which makes it a great half-day trip from the city. To get there, head south on the I-15 before taking exit 27 onto the St Rose Parkway. There is a parking lot on site with plenty of spaces.
If you want to avoid the crowds, the ideal time for a Lion Habitat Ranch visit is during the early morning. Come on a weekday rather than a weekend for a quieter experience.
The sanctuary is open Friday to Monday from 10 AM until 3 PM, with the last admissions at 2 PM.
