Multi-day Tours and Trips from Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa’s “mother city”, is a breathtaking destination suspended between mountain and sea. But the city isn’t the only gem in the south of the country.

From there, you can explore winelands, go on safari, see penguins and whales in their natural habitat and drive along some of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world.

2-day trips

The most popular 2-day tour from Cape Town is a luxury Big 5 safari experience. Venture out into the wilderness to see lions, rhinos, and elephants at a private game lodge not far from the city.

Some tours include extras like a guided bush walk and interaction with orphaned elephants and an unforgettable glamping experience.

If you want to sink your teeth deeper into the city, choose a 2-day tour of Cape Town that includes nature, culture and history. Enjoy a private tour to Boulder’s Penguin Colony, take the cable car up Table Mountain and drive the scenic road around the Cape of Good Hope on day 1.

On day 2 you will dive into the history of South Africa with a visit to Robben Island and the colorful Bo-Kaap district. Walk through the most beautiful botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch and end the tour on a high note with a wine tasting at Groot Constantia.

Overnight in Oudshoorn and enjoy a fabulous 4x4 safari. You can choose from several extras like an elephant bush walk and a lagoon canoe experience before spending the night in the charming town of Sedgefield, hidden in the garden route forest.

On the third day, you can enjoy another exciting outing to one of the country’s premier private game reserves which includes a tranquil bush walk.

An alternative sea and safari combo starts with a visit to Hermanus in search of their famous whales and a stop at the Betty’s Bay penguin colony.

You will continue southeast to Cape Agulhas to see the spectacular Southern Tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Days 2 and 3 are filled with Safaris and bush experiences, bringing you closer to nature than you ever imagined.

You can also stay closer to the city and experience the best that Cape Town. You will eat and sleep on your own account, but a private tour guide will shuttle you to Robben Island, around the Cape Peninsula, and out to the Winelands over the course of three days.

4-day trip

The Garden Route is one of the most spectacular parts of the country and there are weeks worth of things to do and see along the way.

Take a 4-day trip from Cape Town to this unique collection of towns and national parks for a truly unforgettable experience.

Hit Route 62 and take the scenic road to Oudshoorn. The road winds through mountains and past panoramic vistas, leading you to South Africa’s Ostrich capital. You will also visit the Cango Caves, one of the seven wonders of Southern Africa.

Day 2 takes you through Knysna to Plettenberg Bay. Along the way you can go walking with elephants, take an ocean safari or even bungee jump; the garden route is your oyster!

On the third day, you will be immersed in the lush forest with a hike through Tsitsikamma National Park and across the spectacular Storms river suspension bridge.

You will spend the night at a luxury game lodge where you will take a scenic sunset safari.

Garden Route National Park

The Garden Route along South Africa’s south coast is one of the most beautiful regions on the continent. The road winds between forest, mountain and sea and through charming towns nestled in between it all.

There are several multi-day trips taking you through the heart of the Garden Route and as far east as the Addo Elephant park.
