Here's all you need to know about Amsterdam Dungeon tickets, one of the most exciting museums in Amsterdam.

How much do Amsterdam Dungeon tickets cost?

The standard adult price for Amsterdam Dungeon tickets (for those aged 16 years and older) is €26. Children are priced slightly cheaper at €22.

The standard ticket includes entry to the theatre experience where you will see 12 different shows with 10 different actors.

Standard tickets are for an allocated and pre-booked timeslot, so for those wanting ultimate flexibility, there are un-timed tickets that cost €35 for adults and €31 for children.

There is also a 'Dungeon Late' experience which is strictly for those aged 18+ — taking place every evening, this spooky spectacular costs €32,50 per person.

Who is eligible for discounts?

Those aged under 16 years are eligible for cheaper tickets as well as those visiting in groups bigger than 10.

For groups, an adult ticket costs €20,25 and a child ticket costs €17,25.

Similarly, school groups are entitled to cheaper entry with the cost for a student or teacher being only €9,50.

If you book online and in advance, you are most likely to find discounted tickets compared to if you tried to buy your tickets at the door.

Sometimes, discounts are also provided when you purchase a combination ticket — this type of package includes access to multiple attractions, such as the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour or a canal cruise. While the overall ticket price will be higher, it will usually provide the best value for money.

Should you book in advance?

Booking in advance is definitely recommended as timeslots can book out, especially in busy periods such as school holidays. Plus, you're more likely to snap up discounted tickets when booking online as opposed to buying at the door.

If there's a particular time you want to visit during your time in Amsterdam, be sure to book online ahead of time. Because visits are timed, this is the best way to make sure your Amsterdam Dungeon visit is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Are there any combined tickets or tours including Amsterdam Dungeon and other attractions?

Yes! There are a number of tours that combine visiting Amsterdam Dungeon as well as other nearby attractions. This is the perfect option for those looking to combine a number of things or simply enjoy seeing multiple sights in one day.

On top of your entry into Amsterdam Dungeon, you can hop on the below tours to get the most out of your day in Amsterdam:

Amsterdam Dungeon and one-hour canal cruise

Amsterdam is well known for its canal system — the waterways twist and flow their way across the city, and the best way to take them in is on one of Amsterdam's famous canal cruises.

This also provides an excellent overview of the city, making it ideal for first-time visitors.

After meeting your guide and your crew (and your fellow travelers) you'll embark on an hour-long cruise, witnessing the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage canal district.

Along the way, you'll get to appreciate the city's awe-inspiring Golden Age architecture; its striking gables, breathtaking churches and the renowned Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). Depending on the route you take, you might also pass by iconic landmarks such as Anne Frank's House and Westerkerk.

Each boat offers audio guidance from your choice of 18 languages, ensuring you disembark with a newfound appreciation of the local culture and history.

And, of course, after your cruise, you'll then get entry into the Amsterdam Dungeon, where you can enjoy a spine-tingling theatre experience.

Amsterdam Dungeon and 24-hour Hop-On-Hop-Off bus

Offering a chance to experience the entire Amsterdam highlight reel in a short period of time, this tour is a great option for those who love (or need, due to only being in town for a short time) to pack a lot into a day in Amsterdam.

In addition to your admission to Amsterdam Dungeon tickets, you'll get easy transport around Amsterdam. You can enjoy unlimited rides on their iconic double-decker sightseeing buses for a full 24 hours.

Whether you're visiting for a couple of days or just passing through, this fantastic deal allows you to make the most of your stay in Holland's capital city.

Plus, take advantage of various stops located at all the top spots around town – hop on and off as often as you please throughout the day, at quintessential landmarks like Vondelpark, Centraal station, the Amsterdam Icebar, the Van Gogh Museum, the Heineken Experience, Albert Cuyp market and Rembrandtplein — just to name a few!

It serves as a perfect way to get an overview of the city without breaking your budget.

What will you see inside?

As you traverse the Amsterdam Dungeon, you'll get to see — and become part of — a selection of brief shows, spanning theater displays to monologues and more.

You'll also get to explore its winding corridors, and come face-to-face with some of the city's darkest secrets — not for the faint of heart!

As you pass through the various shows and attractions — including the Torture Chamber, a re-creation of the 1664 Great Plague, a dedicated show to the Spanish Inquisition, and a Grim Reaper-themed roller coaster, to name a few — sounds, smell and light effects will keep you captivated and on your toes.

Throw in ghosts, an eerie mirror maze, a witch-burning ceremony at Dam Square and more, and you've got yourself quite the chilling experience!

Darkness engulfs much of the location; thus making it difficult to see actors' movements—this only further heightens the thrilling unknown lurking around every corner within this old-fashioned experience.

Every scene is constructed to evoke antiquity using just a few dusty elements. The performances are bilingual (Dutch and English), making this very suitable for a wide variety of visitors.

The performance goes for a total of 80 minutes, with the ‘Murder on the Zeedijk’ finale providing the final cherry on top.

If you visit on Friday or Saturday evening, you can also pop into the Dungeon Bar after the main show.

How to get there?

The Amsterdam Dungeon is located in the heart of Amsterdam's city center, on Rokin 78, just a short walk from the Dam Square Palace.

Getting to Amsterdam Dungeon is easy as it is only a 5-minute walk from Dam square. If you prefer not to walk, it's also a short tram ride from Amsterdam's central station on routes 4, 9, 16, 24 and 25 – simply get off at stop Rokin.

What are the opening times?

The Amsterdam Dungeon is open every day from 11 AM to 5 PM. The Dungeon Late experience runs from 6 PM to 7 PM. It is advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show starts.

When is the best time to visit the Amsterdam Dungeon?

To avoid crowds, the best time to visit the Amsterdam Dungeon is during the day on a weekday — typically, this is a less busy time compared to the weekends.

For adults wanting a more intense experience, the Dungeon Late is well worth the slightly busier timeslot.

It's also recommended to visit earlier in the day — the Dungeon is a stone's throw from popular attractions like Begijnhof, the Torture Museum and the Dam Square Palace, so you'll want plenty of time to explore the area
