Make your way along the SS222 road through Strada in Chianti and scope out the castles in Castellina. Time to tantalize those taste buds at the luxurious Tenuta Casanova wine estate with a scrumptious lunch amid its organic farm — think classic Caprese salad and bruschetta for starters, wild boar lasagna for mains and gelato for dessert.

Each course is topped with years-aged balsamic from the vinegar cellar and paired with a carefully selected glass of craft vino from the wine cellar.

Chianti Wine Tastings at Sunset Day Trip from Florence

Rating: ⭐️ 4.5/5 (106 reviews)

“Our wine tour went above and beyond our expectations. Not only do you enjoy the best wines in the world, but you enjoy the company of beautiful and welcoming people as well.” Ryan, Viator

Toscana is beautiful at any given hour, but there’s something truly surreal about seeing the countryside at sunset. Leave behind Florence in the late afternoon along the Chiantigiana scenic route, beelining for Greve in Chianti, passing rolling hills laden with vineyards, groves, Cypress trees and farmsteads.

The ACCORD Italy Smart Tours & Experiences tour is timed perfectly so that the wine-tasting part takes place at Golden Hour, sipping on the likes of Chianti Classico Vintage, Chianti Classico Riserva and Super Tuscan wines at a family-operated vineyard near Montefioralle.

Investigate behind the scenes, learning how this winery employs traditional production methods and with tour time in the cellar. Pull over in Badia a Passignano for an awe-inspiring sunset moment (and photographs)!

Our review

We’re big fans of the charcuterie board at the winery, filled with all sorts of yummies like Tuscan Pecorino cheese with truffle oil, classic Tuscan bread and cold cuts. The cherry? Choose from a selection of Tuscan dessert specialties! Wine snobs: this experience includes two separate tastings comprising five sauvignon and rosé wines produced from Syrah grapes.
