Bio
Hey! I'm Christina, the German Content Localization Manager at TourScanner. After studying German and English linguistics and literature at the University of Graz, I lived in various countries such as the US, Austria, Germany and Spain. When I'm not out by the sea or exploring nature on a hike, you will probably find me with my head buried in old atlases, planning my next city trip.
Travel background
Born and raised in a small town in Germany, my parents sparked my love for different countries and cultures at a very early age by taking me on numerous trips around Europe and Africa. At age eighteen, I moved halfway across the world to the US to experience the way of life on yet another continent. With my passion for life abroad ignited, I relocated to Austria and spent eight years in the Alps, before moving to Spain, where I enjoyed tapas and sunshine for the following five years. So far, my travels have taken me to more than 25 countries, and I add more to the list every year.
Best travel experiences
When asked about my best travel experience, choosing just one is tricky. It's not so much the sights and places you visit that create the most memorable experiences but the people you meet along the way. All over the world, you will find remarkable cities, rich history, stunning architecture, and beautiful landscapes (Niagara Falls, the Green Lake of Styria and the Sierra de Guadarrama come to mind). However, the most captivating experience for me is sitting down with a local or a fellow traveler, hearing their stories and making new friends.
